User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Works great with my iPhone
Works as advertised. Speaker is clear, and others seem to hear me fine. Easy to turn off/on. Clip works great, and it’s easy to move speakerphone when I flip my visor down. Excellent choice for the price.

2 Stars Defective Produce and Extra Cost to Fix
I’ve used another Supertooth Light for a couple of years and liked it, which is why I bought this one.

However, I was sent a defective product (the microphone didn’t work)… and had to pay to ship it back to get it replaced by BlueAnt!!

Based on this experience I will never buy another piece of electronics gear from Amazon.

4 Stars I’m Pleased
Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. Occasionally someone notices I’m on a speakerphone, and I do have one person that complains sometimes… but for the most part it just really works well.

5 Stars BlueAnt
BlueAnt was easy to install and the sound is very clear, great for hands free driving!BlueAnt Supertooth Light Bluetooth Speakerphone (Black)

4 Stars bluetooth
Easy to use, ok price. the mic doesnt want to pop out on its own sometimes

Xlink BT Bluetooth Gateway Black

June 25th, 2009 Cellphone Review No comments

Xlink BT Bluetooth Gateway Black

XLINK X-BT-01-20 CELLULAR BLUETOOTH(R) GATEWAY (CANNOT CONNECT TO HOME TELEPHONE SERVICE)

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Better than a Land Line
As the previous review described, if your home phones (hard wired or cordless) have Caller ID, it will say XLink BT instead of the name and shows the number of the caller. Perhaps in a future software upgrade it will include the caller’s name.

Setup was easy. Hold the button down till it flashes, use your cell phone’s Bluetooth pairing function to find the XLink Gateway, then select it. My iPhone was the easiest. My wife’s Pantech Breeze, was a little more difficult to navigate the menus, but linked up once I figured out how to do it.

You can easily disconnect your land line service at the Network Interface (box) outside your house (if your phone company doesn’t) and just plug it into the wall.

You can then answer or make calls from either your cell or home phones. It defaults to calling out on line 1, but you can override this, if desired. We have a family plan, so it doesn’t matter.

This originally listed for $169, but due to competition, it is now under $100. Get one while they are in stock. It’s the best-kept secret in the Cellular world. Get the convenience of a land line, with the portability of wireless with a one-time investment. Highly recommended.

5 Stars Works Great!!
I was a little skeptical about this gadget but a guy at work had it and said it worked great! Also, most of the reviews raved about it. So, I decided to order it and give it a try as I was tired of paying for a cell phone AND a landline. Well, recieved it, paired it with my iPhone (about 30 seconds) and promptyl cancelled my landline! Just keep your cell phone close to the XLink and it will pick up all your phones in the house (you need to have a base phone with handsets assigned to that base). Some people find it hard to believe I am talking on a home phone via XLINK via cell phone!!

5 Stars Love the Xlink
My wife and I got rid of the VoIP service we had since everyone calls our cell phones anyway. But in the new house, there’s always quirky spots (my signal is good at my desk, but my new cell phone doesn’t realize I answered the call -wierd). And some people reading this may have dead zones. Enter the Xlink.

I read about the Panasonic KX-TH1212B in Consumer Reports and saw how they liked it, and I always like Panasonic products. But reading some of the reviews online here, I questioned if I may also experience issues. I then read about the Dock-n-Talk, or whatever it’s called, and a GE bluetooth link, but everyone kept swearing by the Xlink.

The Xlink worked right out of the box. I put the box at the cell phone chargers, where cell signal is perfect and issue free. I plugged it up to my Panasonic cordless phones (I call them networked – where you have one plugged into jack and others one their charger but not plugged in wall throughout the house), and there have been no issues.

When you have the cell phone past the 10ft range from box instructed, you will get some static. Easy solution – move the cell phone into range. I liked that I read you could plug up the box and firmware upgrade at no charge for future cell models.

On my cordless handsets, I have numbers programmed, and the handset speaks those names. If an unrecognized call comes in, then it shows up as ‘Xlink BT’, but I have no issue with that. I bought this fron ANTonline through Amazon, and have had nothing but good things to say.

Samsung WEP700 Bluetooth Wireless Headset Colors Based on Availability May come in Black or Silver

Samsung WEP700 Bluetooth Wireless Headset Colors Based on Availability May come in Black or Silver

Samsung WEP700 Bluetooth Wireless Headset

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars works great…
I bought this while samsung was offering a rebate, so I couldn’t pass it. Got it and it works great… Has good battery life, reception and fits well. The noise canceling is not the greatest but not horrible either…

1 Star Pain in the ears
I used it for 2 days. When I was wearing that it was giving me lots of pain in the ear. First of all because of it was not adjusting in my ear. Second reason was sound was too loud. I was getting headache if I use that for more than 5 mins. Sound quality was too bad. Can never recommend any time.

5 Stars A steal for $15 – great sound, easy to use, wowsa!
PROS: small, easy to charge, stays on ear well thus far, great sound

CONS: None yet… Doesn’t work with two devices at once well, but that wasn’t a promised feature.

I bought the WEP 700 and two WEP 200’s for $15 and $5 each respectively, and am blown away. After using $50-100 bluetooth headsets and considering a BlueAnt (for $80), I instead have three headsets for my family for the sum of $25 and they work wonderfully.

The WEP 700 is the preferred one vs. the WEP 200 – easier to charge, better ear attachment than the WEP 200 (that doesn’t break). Don’t even bother with the 300 and 500 series in my humble opinion.

If I had to do it again, I’d buy three WEP 700’s for $45 and laugh all the way to the bank.

4 Stars Great BT Headset
with noise cancellation feature, this wep700 is far better than wep301… however, I like the design of the wep301 better.

3 Stars Awkard, but functional
The Samsung WEP700 Bluetooth Headset is everything that the manufacturer claims in it’s advertising, however, the “buttonology” can be a bit awkward to get used to. Pushing the Call button will automatically dial the last person called, while holding the same button down for 2-3 seconds then releasing it will allow you to use voice commands, and the same button held down for just a little longer will shut the unit off. This may cause issues if you keep calling the same number or can’t figure out why the voice command feature isn’t coming up because you weren’t paying attention to the length of time you pressed the call button. If patience (or timing) is not one of your virtues I would look for something that automatically triggers the voice command feature rather than last number called and has a separate on/off switch.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars This is good or bad depending on what you’re looking for.
There’s a reason this went from $130 to $30 in a seven month span.

There is no planet where this is a high end headset — the noise cancelation will remove sounds you don’t care about, but isn’t even good enough to make you audible against the road noise of a car going 55 mph with the windows closed.

That said, this is a pretty good choice for the low end, with reasonable controls, a small size, and a decent charging setup.

3 Stars Works well, but missing pieces not a complete setup.
The Motorola H12 delivered from Amazon is just that the Motorola H12 in its bulk pakcaging. No extra earbuds, no extra dock for on your desk, no extra plastic ear piece. It comes in a plastic bag, with the charger, instructions and H12 bluetooth. For the money I would suggest spending two dollars more and finding a buyer that gives you all the ear pieces. This one comes with the teardrop earpiece which is EXTREMELY uncomfortable for most people, if it was the round piece it would be ok. SO BUY IT ONLY if you want to feel confident that its coming from Amazon and not another seller, otherwise avoid and try elsewhere.

4 Stars Motorola H12
I really like the comfort of this headset. I have small ears & find that this model does not flop around & stays put. The styling is sleek. The price through Amazon was considerably less than the retail cost in my area. BestBuy was retailing the H12 for about $120.00. I live in Southwest Connecticut. Overall, I am very happy with this model.

5 Stars My first Bluetooth
It is so great. I connected it with my Blackjack II and made my first phone call. It sounded very clear and is great to use when I am in the car. So far, I have had no problems with it and love the fact that it charges up very quickly. Great product with a sleek look at an affordable price.

5 Stars Fantastic OEM Bluetooth Headset
I purchased this OEM Motorola H12 Headset recently and I’m glad I did.

It was far cheaper then the retail packaging, and it works fantastic. I have tested it while walking outside, which is something my last motorola headset would not do very well. I walk my dog a lot and needed something hands free that would sound good outside, and this one is it. Everyone tells me that they can’t tell I’m outside, or if a big wind gust comes up, they say its not very noisy for them.

Setup:

It synced up with my Blackberry Storm in about 15 seconds. Very easy to setup. Works great with the Blackberry Storm voice recognition software. I simply press the button, and tell it to call “John Smith Mobile” and I’m good to go.

Comfort:

As far as comfort, it is very lightweight, and fights fairly well in my ear. I would not call it extremely comfortable, but i’d give it high marks none the less. The clip that goes around the ear to hold it in place is a very nice design, comfortable. My only fear is that it is plastic and looks like it would break easily, but it clips on and I already saw you can buy a 3 pack of replacements for under $10

Sound Quality:

It is a little tin can sounding. Kind of hollow or not a large range of audio quality, but not really much of a surprise, as most wireless headsets sound like this. Volume is great, has up and down, and for me, I don’t have to turn it up very much to hear everything I want, even while walking outside in the wind.

Overall, I say go for it. I did a lot of reasurch and this one is by far the best bang for your money. Hope this review was helpful.
