Sennheiser FLX70 FlexiFit Bluetooth Headset

Discover what a comfortable conversation feels like with the FLX70. Featuring the FlexiFit system, the FLX70 comfortably isolates noise in the left or right ear, with or without an earhook. A convenient, optional lanyard allows you to keep the headset at the ready without keeping it in the ear. DSP reduces echo and ambient noise while Bluetooth 2.0 ensures compatibility with today’s hottest phones.

3 Stars Great sound, 755p compatible, abysmal battery life
Sound quality (my end and their end):

I am very pleased with how well I can hear others, even with background noise around me. My dad mumbles, and I can hear him more clearly on this headset than others I’ve tried. However, the folks I talk to tell me that they can’t tell any difference between how I sound when I talk to them with this headset compared to my previous Jabra 5020 (which cost $30). I had to shell out $$$ for this item because my phone is nearly incompatible with bluetooth headsets, but if I didn’t have a Sprint Treo 755p (fellow 755p owners see below), I would have stuck with the Jabra 5020’s comparable sound (although my 5020 literally fell apart after 1 month).

If I make too much background noise on my end (crumpling newspaper, running water, shuffling papers, moving dishes etc), it’s painfully loud for folks on the other end. But that has been the case for my Jabra 5020, Motorola H700, Plantronics Voyager 510, Gennum NX6000 and even a wired Jabra. And they can turn their headsets down.

Comfort and fit:

I find this VERY comfortable. It’s made for user’s to nestle the ear bud in your ear. It comes with ear gels in 3 sizes, and the medium fits my medium-small ear well. It will NOT stay in my ear without the flexible ear loop. The ear loop is bendable and did not break when I bent it to fit my ear. It has held its shape. Now I can shake my head and the headset won’t budge.

Battery life:

The battery life is VERY poor and disappointing. I can only get a max of 60 minutes of talk time out of it. Even if I leave it turned on but don’t use it, the battery drains in less than a day. I would have expected more battery life for this much money. I’m thinking of returning it for that reason. Note: I left the headset plugged into the charger all night. When I went to bed, the light was blue (indicates full charge, but when I retrieved it this morning, the light was red (low charge). Go figure.

FOR TREO 755p USERS:

I have a Sprint Treo 755p and finding a headset that is compatible with it has been a nightmare. I have only had this headset for a week, but so far it seems to be causing fewer problems than my previous 4 headset attempts. The headset picks up calls when it’s supposed to about 85-90% of the time, which is by far the best I’ve experienced. FYI, I do not route calls directly to the headset, I press the button on the headset when I get or make a call. My Treo soft resets itself a whole lot, but it’s hard to say if that has anything to do with the headset or not. It does it more frequently when the headset is on, but still does it when the headset’s turned off.

5 Stars Excelent for iPhone
The best bluetooth headset for iPhone. Low battery consumption, great sound quality. Definately a product to have, if you have an iPhone.

Plantronics Voyager 510 Recertified Bluetooth Headset Silver

For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. It’s comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics’ exclusive Multipoint technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices.

With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset’s “smart” technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You’ll never need to use a dedicated “landline” phone headset again.

The 510 features WindSmart technology, which enhances call clarity in windy environments (i.e., car with window/roof open, air conditioning on, outside with breeze), and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from Wi-Fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you’ll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time.

Specifications

  • Talk time: Up to 6 hours
  • Standby time: Up to 100 hours
  • Bluetooth version: 1.2 (supports headset and handsfree profiles)
  • Wearing style: Over-the-ear; boom swivels for wearing on either ear
  • Headset controls: Volume, mute, call answer/end, voice-activated dialing (must be supported by your phone)
  • Adaptive Frequency Hopping: Yes (helps to avoid interference for co-existence with Wi-Fi/WLAN)
  • Supports analog and digital office phones: Yes

4 Stars Most excellent headset
There are a lot of bad bluetooth headsets out there. This isn’t one of them. Very good in all respects. I would give it 5 stars if it was a little less bulky, but overall at least 4.5 stars. Controls pretty easy to use by touch, great sound quality & volume in/out, good fit, and long battery life. Also, the charger is easier to plug into the headset than most I’ve tried. Setup was a snap.

5 Stars Plantronics Bluetooth
This bluetooth is very comfortable and easy to switch ears. The reception is extremely better than any ofther bluetooth I’ve had and the price is unbeatable. I highly recommend this product.

5 Stars Great Bluetooth
great sounding Bluetooth. A little bulky if being used for travel but I use it for home use and sounds great, had excellent range and excellent battery life

5 Stars It’s alive after a washing and drying!
I bought this headset from another company several months ago. It’s not the most expensive Bluetooth headset, but it seemed to have good reviews. My nanny accidentally washed, and dried it after I forgot it in a pair of my shorts. It seemed broken, as it wouldn’t light up when I tried to turn it on. I ordered two more as a replacement, of the reconditioned ones, as they were cheaper. My wife unknowingly plugged it in to recharge, as she thought it was hers, which wasn’t run through the laundry. It took a charge, and works great! I cannot believe it! I’d give this item 6 stars if I could…

5 Stars Thumbs Up
Excellent product. I have used Motorola bluetooth i paid $100 for it but it sucked.very terrible noise.but this one is excellent reception. very easy to install. highly recomenended.

5 Stars Slightly uncomfortable, for a while
This is a fine little Bluetooth device. I bought it for myself; I believe my wife will like it even more, given the longer “boom mike,” if we can call it that.

A little strange getting used to the huge wad of electronics behind the ear, and a little irritating at first; but it soon recedes into the background.

Sound quality is excellent.

3 Stars Great sound quality.. super uncomfortable
I had to return this bluetooth. When I tried it out, the sound quality was fabulous. Everyone on the other end was able to hear me without any problems. However, I had to return it because it was so uncomfortable and after talking for 5 minutes, I would have to hang up. It does come with different earbuds, but I could not find one that didn’t hurt. So, I returned it for this reason. However, a friend has this bluetooth and does not have the discomfort.. so it depends on your ear!

4 Stars Nice value for money
This is a pretty good piece for its price value equation. In fact, but for its on-off switch which needs to be pressed too hard and is not smooth this product may have rated even higher. If you are wearing this product on your ears, you cannot switch it on or off – you have to remove it. I have used other Plantronics headset and this function has been better in cheaper headsets too.

5 Stars Not Much Better Than This
I’ve had my 510 for two years and just lost it while on vacation this past week. Boy did I ever miss having it. The ease of use and noise-canceling feature makes this unit almost perfect and still deserving of a five star rating. Good thing for me that as technology marches on, prices drop. I paid almost eighty dollars for my first one. Today, I’m getting the same thing here on Amazon for less than half that amount. Don’t waste time looking elsewhere for a better price. I just wasted a full hour-plus comparing prices and as of right now, the best price WITH FREE SHIPPING is on Amazon. Way to go guys!! B T W – I do NOT work for Amazon or Plantronics. Just another average Joe like the rest of you trying to help save some time. Thanks again Amazon Dot Com.

5 Stars Nice and usable
Bought this as a gift for my wife who loves gadgets. Works extremely well as I knew it would. Have another Plantronics blue tooth set for my computer and it has worked well for over two years.

5 Stars Great Storage
When not using my headset this is a great way to keep it safe. Light and durable, I keep this in my handbag all the time and my headset is always at hand and in good condition.

1 Star THEFT
I NEVER RECEIVED THE ITEM….STILL WAITING FOR IT…I BELIEVE MY MONEY WAS STOLEN BY THIS MERCHANT

1 Star It’s not what you think…
I purchased this item based on the description, which states “Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset Carrying Case.” First of all, this is an OEM item, in which you may be able to stuff the headset in. Maybe not. Certainly not designed for the headset, whatsoever. My problem was reading the title of the item and assuming that it: 1) was made my Plantronics, 2) was for a Plantronics Voyager 510, and 3) could serve as a carrying case for such an item.

I am very disappointed. I shall start to consider alternative uses. Like for small scraps of paper, USB sticks, and so on.

Don’t be fooled…

4 Stars Handy carrying case
This is a handy carrying case for the Voyager 510 headset. Some reviewers mentioned that their headset would fall out of their case. I have not found this to be a problem in the 3 months that I have owned this so far. Someone mentioned in a review that if you tuck the charging end in to one of the two slots between the elastic at the bottom the headset will fit comfortably in the case. I found this to be true and it fits quite securely. The only reason that I’m giving this four stars is because it doesn’t come with even a little card mentioning this and I really think that the company should tell you how to get your headset in the case!

Other than that, this is a great case. It’s not intrusive and it does its job well.

1 Star LOST MY HEADSET BECAUSE OF THIS CASE!!!!
I was truly looking forward to this carrying case. The first time I wore it was at the local county fair. When I was driving home with my Girlfriend, I reached down to grab it and it had quietly fallen out without me realizing it! I did not even ride any of the amusement rides, I was merely casually walking around and it managed to fall out. I agree with the other reviewer that this product needs to have a elastic strap to hold it down. Now I am trying to find a new Bluetooth headset. Do not know if I am going to purchase a Plantronics 510 again.
